The RGU Ventures Investment Fund is the first dedicated venture fund for investment in intellectual property developed by Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. It launched with committed funds at First Closing of up to £1.1 million.
Frontier IP and Robert Gordon University are the first investors in the RGU Fund and the RGU Ventures Investment Fund also has partnership status with Scottish Enterprise’s Scottish Co-investment Fund, potentially doubling the total funds available to £2.2m.
The Fund remains open to further limited partners until July 2011.
The RGU Ventures Investment Fund primarily invests in Robert Gordon university spinout companies seeking early or development stage capital. The Fund will consider any sector where there is a clear and defensible intellectual property base, with a typical investment range of between £25,000 and £500,000.
