Robert Gordon University
Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen is one of the oldest technology institutes in the UK and was recently named the Best Modern University in the UK by the Times Good University Guide 2010. Frontier IP has a 25-year commercialisation partnership with the university, which supports commercialisation activity across all faculties. Robert Gordon University has over 14,000 students, 5129 of which are postgraduate.
In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, 73% of Robert Gordon University research was classified as being of international quality. The University has particular strengths in health, computer science and informatics and oil, gas and renewable energies, including a dedicated Energy Centre focused on collaboration with industry. Its commercial activity has established strong relationships and a proven track record working with multi-national oil companies, including Shell and Chevron.
In addition to its research and commercial activity, in the Times Good University Guide 2010, Robert Gordon University is top in Scotland for graduate-level employment and third equal in the UK with University of Cambridge, behind LSE and Imperial College.
